Bruce Piatek, Florida Agricultural Museum (Advisor)
Bruce J. Piatek is an archaeologist and museum professional with an M.A. from Florida State University. In his current role as Executive Director of the Florida Agricultural Museum, he successfully moved the museum from Tallahassee to a new 460 acre site where he built an accompanying outdoor museum, providing experiences rather than gallery visits. The museum has restored numerous historic buildings and maintains livestock including rare Florida breeds of cattle and horses.
Previously, Mr. Piatek conducted archaeological research on historic sites, including Fort Barancas, and Native American sites in Pensacola for the National Park Service. He has served as the City Archaeologist of St. Augustine and the Research Director for the Historic St. Augustine Preservation Board, is a founding member of the Florida Archaeological Council and a member of The Society for Historical Archaeology, Florida Anthropological Society, St. Augustine Archaeological Association, and Florida Museum Association.
Richard Goldman, St. Johns County Visitor and Convention Bureau (Advisor)
Mr. Goldman is the executive director of the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitors and Convention Bureau. Prior to joining the Bureau in 2009, Goldman served as the senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Amelia Island Plantation. A past chairman of VISIT FLORIDA’s Board of Directors, he is also past vice chair of the Florida Commission on Tourism and immediate past chair of Florida’s First Coast of Golf, a regional destination marketing organization. After graduating from the University of Florida, Mr. Goldman spent 17 years as an advertising agency executive in New York and Miami.
Glenn Hastings, Executive Director, St. Johns County Tourist Development Council (Advisor)
Currently, Glenn serves as Treasurer of the Visit Florida Board of Directors and is a member of the Florida Commission on Tourism. In addition to his leadership roles on the Visit Florida Board of Directors, he was instrumental in the creation of the Viva Florida effort within VISIT FLORIDA and serves as the co-chair of the Viva Florida committee. Hastings is a past Chairman of the Florida Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus. Having lived and worked for the past fifteen years in St. Augustine, Hastings’ areas of expertise are heritage tourism and tourism marketing. He often speaks on the subject at tourism industry conferences and related gatherings.
